As usual, for this year too, we have a series of events - some of which are already initated and some ongoing as the rest is being planned in due course of time. Tomorrow is the World Wetlands Day (2nd February) which marks the weeks-long Waterfest which we had initiated in the year 2016 and which ends on the 22nd March 2026 - the World Water Day. Waterfest is the largest, multi-stakeholder Annual programme bringing together various government departments, civil society organizations, individuals, institutions, people's organizations together on the single agenda on Water - a constructive, deliberative, citizen-centric festival which reminds us and calls for action for a better water-secure world through a combination of field level action, citizen science research, wetlands assessment, water and livelihoods, education, health and all possible interconnected thematic areas. Waterfest is not just limited to the Puducherry UT but to the whole of the bioregion - the Puducherry-Villupuram-Auroville-Cuddalore(PVAC) bioregion and is thus another rare and unique call for action at a bio-regional level. Hope to see you all tomorrow evening - and be part of another exciting edition of the Waterfest which when we started in 2016 has now being followed across India as their own Waterfests - by those who have visited the earlier editions of our Waterfest. Kind and Warm Regards, Raghunath TP Alliance for Good Governance, Sri Aurobindo Society.
