Dear All, After nearly six decades of experimentation, Auroville continues to be a place where people from different parts of the world come together to live, work, question, and imagine shared ways of being. Today, as the world faces ecological fragility, deepening social divisions, and uncertainty about collective futures, the questions that built Auroville’s first huts towards the birth of a new consciousness have never felt more urgent. Auroville Convivial is a week-long international gathering. It is an invitation to step into a shared, live space to speak about and around Auroville. We will reopen dialogue on how this experiment engages with the wounds of the world and its own ongoing successes, setbacks, and possibilities. What is Conviviality? It is the art of living together with our differences. It is a practice that allows openness, disagreement, care, and complexity to sit at the same table. It is about how we stay “together” in a world that often tries to pull us apart. The aim is to build an archive of prismatic understanding, allowing a global audience to encounter Auroville through its many layers and possibilities. Among others, Dr. Sachidanandan Mohanty, Debashish Banerjee, Ashish Kothari, and Devdip Ganguly, Michel Danino, Manoj Pavitran, Jill Navarre, Charudutta Acharya, Christian Feuillette have confirmed their participation as keynote speakers. Many Aurovilians and friends from outside Auroville are also joining. It is, however, unfortunate that several have declined, choosing silence in an atmosphere of fear—which only reinforces the need for those who can speak from mind and heart, in the light of the universal oneness envisioned by Sri Aurobindo, to do so.
