*FREE ONLINE SESSION OPEN TO ALL* *Menstrual Cycle, Responsible Disposal* - An Informative Online Session During menstruation, products like sanitary napkins and tampons are commonly used. While much attention is given to using these products, it’s equally important to focus on what happens after, and how the waste from these products is disposed of. Often, this waste is thrown in the open, mixed with wet or dry waste, or hidden away, and then waste picker women have to handle this waste. This puts their health at risk. So, products meant to protect our health end up harming someone else’s. It’s time to change this, together. To understand how to take care of your health during menstruation, how to handle sanitary waste carefully, and what we can do as a individual and at a city level, SWaCH Pune Cooperative is organising an online session on the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, titled “Natural Cycles, Responsible Disposal, on Wednesday, 28th May, from 4 to 5 PM. SWaCH waste picker representatives will talk about the ‘Red Dot’ initiative, an awareness campaign started by them. They will also share their personal experiences of handling sanitary waste every day, along with the challenges they face. Representatives from the organisation Badlaav will provide guidance on how to take care of one’s health during menstruation.
