Feminist philosophers like Mary Astell, Olympe de Gouges, Carole Pateman, Susan Moller Okin, and Martha Nussbaum ask a sharper question: who was ever allowed to consent at all? This session explores how women theorists expose the hidden exclusions at the heart of contract theory—and what rethinking consent, power, and equality truly demands. Vaneeza’s academic interests include contemporary and political philosophy, with a particular focus on epistemological frameworks and the ways in which knowledge systems influence structures of gender and power.
