When we talk about someone being *active* in the group, it simply means they’re checking the messages regularly — not necessarily posting. If you send a message to the group, you can tap and hold on your own message, then click the “i” icon at the top. This shows you who has seen the message, and who has received it but not yet scrolled over it in the chat. For example, I noticed that one of my messages was unseen by about 300 people, and another (a picture) was unseen by 361 people, even after two weeks. That doesn’t necessarily mean those members are inactive. It could be that they just didn’t scroll back far enough to reach my message, especially if there were many new posts after it. So, while this feature gives us some indication, there’s no reliable way to know who is not really interested, or has muted, archived, or completely stopped reading the group chat.
